Jane Mecom Winkler
Lifetime Shreveporter Jane Winkler was born January 17, 1964 to Philip H. Mecom Jr. and Irma Mecom and left us June 27, 2024 after a brief illness. First married and divorced the late Russell Brabham , then married Darrell Stanley Winkler who survives her along with son, Sean Forest Winkler, and daughter Noelle Elise Winkler. She is also survived by her mother, brother, Trey Mecom , and extended family. She was predeceased by her father, sister, Pamela Mecom Snider, mother-in-law, Jane Davis Tait, and brother-in-law, Jon Jon Wayne Winkler.
Jane grew up attending Redeemer Lutheran Church (now Christ Lutheran Church) where her mother played organ and piano. She made lifetime friends throughout her school years, even still close with classmates from her days at Agnew Town and Country Day School (AGNEW REUNION ). A 1981 graduate of Captain Shreve High School (Captain Shreve High School Class of 1981 ), she also earned a bachelor's degree from LSU-Shreveport. Her work career began as a legal assistant and Notary, moving on to graphic design after her first marriage.
Though Jane had an introspective side and was an avid reader, she also enjoyed time with her friends. A patron of the Shreve Square music scene of the 1980's ( Shreve Square in the Eighties )her taste in music ranged from rock to classical, Led Zeppelin to Bach.
Jane and Stanley enjoyed gardening and gourmet cooking, and looked forward to the family's yearly vacation, usually to the beaches near Destin FL. She loved her children dearly, and will be sorely missed.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1 pm. Saturday, July 27th, at Pepito XO Mexican Bistro, 5815 Youree Drive, Shreveport Louisiana, 71105

I have fond memories of Jane starting at Riverside Elementary on through Captain Shreve. A kind and funny person that left us too soon. My deepest sympathies to her family.
