Larry graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 1981 and attended Louisiana State University.

Larry had a passion for the outdoors, wildlife and all his animals. Throughout his life, he was known to raise exotic ducks, quail, and birds. He had numerous dogs who were faithful companions, especially Joshua, his black lab. Larry loved football, especially the LSU Tigers, Minnesota Vikings, and the Baylor Bears.

Larry resided in Minneapolis and North Dakota for over 30 years where he enjoyed ice fishing and hunting. He was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous and was sober for 28 years. Throughout his life in Minneapolis and North Dakota, he encouraged many men to embrace recovery using the AA program and to know God which led to changing numerous lives for the better. He returned to Louisiana in 2017 to be closer to family and friends.

One of Larry's greatest moments in life was the day his daughter, Lauren, was born. His unwavering love for Lauren was a source of strength for him throughout his life. He took great pride in watching her mature into an adult and become a mother.
